Tolltrax Dot Matrix Receipt Printer

Receipt Printer

The Tolltex TollTrax toll collection system includes dot matrix receipt printers. The printers are used to print both receipts and multi-use tickets.

The printers are small, rugged units that are designed to meet the printing requirements of a toll collection system. The printers interface with lane controller via a standard serial RS-232 data cable.

The compact size of the printers allow them to fit snugly int into a standard size toll booth without overcrowding the toll operators countertop.

A hinged top equipped with a latching mechanism allows paper to be easily loaded by toll booth operators. The same is true of the print ribbons that simply snap into place allowing for easy replacement.

The lane controller constantly monitors the status of the receipt printer. In the event of a paper jam or some other problem, the lane controller sends a message to the plaza computer system indicating the status. The plaza computer then updates a graphic representation of all equipment associated with each lane. From that graphic monitor screen, the supervisory staff is immediately informed. Once the problem is corrected, the graphic monitor screen automatically indicates that the printer is back in service.
